Tell us what you have.
We match the series.

Two paths: match an inverter to the pump already on site, or have a pump and its inverter matched together. Either way the series is proposed from the records and confirmed against your installation.

HOBER solar pump and inverter package

Matched to the water source and the duty

Route A

Match an inverter to the pump you have

Read the figures off the pump nameplate. A single-phase pump runs on 220–240 V; a three-phase pump on 380–440 V. The series that reaches the rating without oversizing it is listed first.

As the nameplate states it, in kW or hp.

As the nameplate states it. A recorded model that states another frequency is shown beside the one you chose rather than read as a match.

A model number, or anything else printed on the nameplate, travels with your inquiry.

The result is a reference, not a promise: the series and the models inside it are read from the records, and the model, the PV side and the array are confirmed against your installation before anything is quoted.

Route B

Match a pump and its inverter together

The water source decides which pump series is in question; the flow and the head decide the model inside it. Those two figures go to our engineer with your inquiry, because the pump curve is what turns them into a rating.

The water the site needs at the point of use, in the unit you measured it in.

Metres, from the working water level to the discharge.

The borehole the pump goes into. Families whose stated pump does not fit it are left out of the result.

The frequency the pump runs on. The recorded models are ranked only once the supply and the frequency are confirmed.

Work the total head out from the parts you have measured

Optional. Enter the parts you know and their sum is written into the total head above. One bar of outlet pressure is read as 10.197 m of water head; pipe losses are not estimated by the site, so enter only the loss you have already counted.

Already know the motor rating or its supply?

Optional. The supply you choose here is also the electrical condition the recorded models are ranked against; fill the rating as well and the inverter series is matched with it. Leave both empty and the inverter is matched once the pump is chosen.

A pump series is a family, not a model. The model, its power and the array follow from the duty point and are confirmed with you.

Inverter series for your pump

A series is listed here when the pump voltage and phase match it and its stated power range reaches your rating. Where no range reaches it, the next step up is shown as exactly that — the step above, not a match — and the model itself is confirmed from the nameplate.

The series is read from the water source and the pump family it belongs to. The model inside it follows the flow and the head you entered, which our engineer reads against the pump curve — the figures you sent travel with your inquiry.

02 / What decides the selection

The four inputs.
Everything follows from them.

None of the four is read on its own. A pump that suits one site is the wrong pump on another, so the selection is worked through all of them before anything is proposed.

Water source

Where the water is

A borehole or a well, a river or a lake, or a storage tank. The source decides which product line is in question at all, and what the pump has to sit in or draw from.

Required flow

How much water, and when

The water the site needs at the point of use, and how that demand is spread across the day. Flow is what the pump has to deliver, so it is read before the equipment is discussed.

Total dynamic head

How far the water is lifted

The lift from the working water level to the discharge, plus the losses through the pipe run and the fittings. Flow and head are read together; one without the other says very little.

Power & hours

What the site can run on

Whether the site runs on solar alone or with grid or generator support, and the hours the pump is expected to work. That decides the inverter and the way the array is arranged.

03 / Three routes

Three routes in.
Your water decides which.

Each route leads to a different product line. Take the one that matches your water source, then send the duty with it — the final selection is confirmed with our team.

Borehole water

HOBER submersible solar water pump

Solar submersible pumps

The route for a well or a borehole. The pump works below the water level and lifts to the surface, so the selection starts from the borehole and the lift it needs.

Surface water

HOBER solar surface water pump

Solar surface pumps

The route for a river, a lake or a storage tank. The pump works at the edge of the water or beside the tank, so the suction conditions and the run to the point of use are part of the selection.

Existing AC pump

HOBER solar pump inverter

Solar pump inverters

The route for a pump that is already installed and working. The motor and the application are checked first, and the pump runs from solar or hybrid power only where the two of them fit.

The final selection is confirmed against the site — the water source, the duty and the equipment already in place — before anything is quoted.

04 / What to send with the inquiry

Site data first.
Selection second.

These are the points our team works from. Send what you know about the site; anything missing is asked for rather than assumed.

  • The water source and the water quality
  • The required flow at the point of use
  • The total dynamic head for the installation
  • The pipe route — what is planned or already in place
  • For a borehole: its diameter and the water levels
  • If a pump already exists: its nameplate details
  • The site location

A selection is only as good as the site data behind it, which is why the review starts from your site rather than from a model list.

The site data decides the pump, the inverter and the array.
