01 / What decides the selection

The four inputs.
Everything follows from them.

None of the four is read on its own. A pump that suits one site is the wrong pump on another, so the selection is worked through all of them before anything is proposed.

Water source

Where the water is

A borehole or a well, a river or a lake, or a storage tank. The source decides which product line is in question at all, and what the pump has to sit in or draw from.

Required flow

How much water, and when

The water the site needs at the point of use, and how that demand is spread across the day. Flow is what the pump has to deliver, so it is read before the equipment is discussed.

Total dynamic head

How far the water is lifted

The lift from the working water level to the discharge, plus the losses through the pipe run and the fittings. Flow and head are read together; one without the other says very little.

Power & hours

What the site can run on

Whether the site runs on solar alone or with grid or generator support, and the hours the pump is expected to work. That decides the inverter and the way the array is arranged.
