Project Support

Engineering support from
project data to commissioning.

For EPC contractors, irrigation contractors, water supply projects, engineering companies and tender teams: the equipment selection, the documents a project asks for, and the commissioning and monitoring that follow.

Solar pumping installation with water storage

Pump, inverter and storage at a project site.

01 / The project path

Nine stages from the project data
to a running system.

Each stage settles one question, so the offer, the documents and the handover do not come back later as a change.

  1. 01Project requirementsWhat the project has to deliver, and the data the project already holds.
  2. 02Hydraulic requirementsFlow and total head settled at the duty point of the project.
  3. 03Pump selectionThe pump line and model the duty point calls for.
  4. 04Inverter & PV designThe inverter matched to the selected pump, and the array that feeds it.
  5. 05System designPump, inverter, array and accessories configured as one system.
  6. 06BOQ / technical documentsThe document set the project asks for, prepared against the specification.
  7. 07SupplyThe equipment and the accessories in one combined supply scope.
  8. 08CommissioningRemote installation guidance, parameters, first run and fault finding.
  9. 09MonitoringRemote monitoring configured where the project includes it.

The order is the point: a project scope is only quotable once the duty, the equipment and the documents have been settled in that order.

02 / Project evaluation

Read from the project data,
answered as a matched system.

A project is evaluated from what the project already has. Send what exists, and we say what is still missing before an offer is issued.

  • The required flow at the point of use
  • The total head of the installation
  • The water source — well, borehole, river, lake, reservoir or storage tank
  • The pipeline and the route it takes
  • The operating hours the system is expected to run
  • The power source available at the site

What comes back is which pump line and which inverter suit the requirement, and where the requirement is not covered by the range.

Surface pump package prepared for supply

The requirement is answered with the equipment that fits it.

03 / System engineering

Four decisions made together,
not one after another.

The equipment is configured as one system: a change in any of these four changes the others.

Pump selection

The pump line and model are selected from the flow and the total head of the project, not from a pump that was chosen in advance.

Solar pump inverter selection

The inverter is matched on the motor current of the selected pump, not on a power figure alone.

PV sizing

Module data, string design, the combiner box and the protection around the array, worked out for the site and for the selected pump.

System architecture

Pump, inverter, array and the accessories around them configured as one system for the installation.

04 / BOQ & technical documentation

The documents a project asks for,
prepared for the project.

Each one is prepared for the project and confirmed against the specification it is written to. Documents that are already published are available from Technical resources.

  • BOQ — bill of quantities for the equipment in the supply scope
  • Datasheet for the selected pump and inverter
  • System diagram of the installation as it is configured
  • Wiring diagram for the equipment supplied
  • Single line diagram for the electrical arrangement

The document set follows the project: it is written against the specification the project is working to and confirmed with the equipment that is proposed for it.

05 / Tender support

The specification answered,
the questions clarified.

Support during a tender is technical: the answers and the documents the process asks for, with no claim about its outcome.

Technical compliance

The specification is answered point by point, and anything that is not covered is named rather than passed over.

Specification matching

The equipment is matched against the specification the tender is written to, and any deviation from it is stated.

Certificates

What can be provided for the order is confirmed before the order is placed.

Technical clarification

Questions raised during clarification are answered from the project data and the configuration that was proposed.

06 / Supply, commissioning and monitoring

One combined supply scope,
and the boundary stated.

HOBER supplies equipment and the engineering support behind it. HOBER is not an EPC contractor and does not take on site construction; the works on site stay with the project team.

The equipment is supplied and supported; the site works stay with the project team.

Supply scope

The solar pump inverter, the pump and the related system equipment are offered as one combined supply scope for the project, so the equipment is proposed as a matched set rather than as separate parts.

Commissioning

Remote guidance covers how the equipment is installed, the parameters set for the selected pump and inverter, the first run, and fault finding afterwards — worked through with the team that installs it.

Monitoring

Monitoring is configured per project: optional flow metering and 4G or WiFi remote monitoring where the project includes them.

07 / Questions from project teams

Straight answers,
before the tender.

What should a project brief include?

The required flow, the total head, the water source, the pipeline and its route, the operating hours and the power source available at the site — together with the specification the project is working to, where one exists.

Is documentation available for a tender?

BOQ, datasheets, system, wiring and single line diagrams are prepared for the project and confirmed against the specification. What is already published is available from Technical resources; anything written for a project is prepared with the project.

Who confirms the final configuration?

It is agreed with you before anything is committed. We propose the matched equipment and the scope; the project team confirms it against the site and the specification.

Does HOBER take on the installation or act as an EPC?

No. HOBER supplies equipment and engineering support and does not act as an EPC contractor. Construction, civil works and site labour stay with the project team; installation is guided remotely and commissioning is worked through with the team that installs the system.

Next step

Submit the project requirements.
Get a confirmed supply scope.

Share the flow, the total head, the water source, the power available at the site and the specification you are working to. The answer comes back as the matched pump and inverter, the supply scope, and the documents the project asks for.
