06 / Questions

Questions this series is asked.

What information is required to select an NIS pump?

Please provide the required flow rate and total dynamic head, water source and liquid conditions, suction arrangement, operating hours and available power supply. Selection is checked against the exact model curve, motor specification and site conditions.

Is the NIS pump self-priming?

No. NIS is a non-self-priming end-suction centrifugal pump. The priming method and suction conditions must be checked for the installation before operation.

Can NIS pumps be used for river-water projects?

NIS pumps can be considered for clean-water river intake, irrigation and transfer projects. Suitability depends on water quality, intake screening and the suction arrangement. Tell us about sediment or debris so that the pump and intake can be reviewed for the application.

Are maximum flow and maximum head available at the same time?

No. Maximum flow and maximum head are separate limits. The required flow and head must be checked together on the exact model performance curve.

How does the NIS pump operate on solar power?

The PV array supplies DC power to a solar pump inverter, which drives the pump motor and adjusts its operating frequency as available solar power changes. The motor and PV array must be matched to the selected inverter.

How is the suction arrangement checked?

Provide the minimum water level relative to the pump, suction-pipe length and diameter, fittings, liquid temperature and site altitude. These conditions are used to assess suction losses and the available NPSH against the selected pump's requirements.

Where can I find performance curves and dimensional drawings?

Download the 50 Hz technical catalogue for performance curves, tables, sectional drawings and dimensions. Confirm the exact model and selected configuration before finalising pipework or foundations.

07 / Request a pump selection

Ask us to select the pump for your duty point.

Tell us what you need. Your name, your country and your WhatsApp number are all we need to answer — your company, your email address and your message are optional; the flow, the total head and the site, where you have them, go in your message — or say you are not sure yet and we will work them out with you.
