Pump Help

Tell us what the pump is doing. The check asks one question at a time and ends with the next step for your situation.

  • For HOBER dealers & installers

01 / Start from what you see

What is the problem?

Choose one. We will help you step by step.

Smoke, burning smell or wet electrics?

Stop here. Do not touch the wet equipment, and do not start the pump again to look for the fault.

Start with the danger check

02 / Your check

One question at a time.

Answer with what you can already see or hear. The check never asks you to start a faulty pump again, and every answer can be changed.

Checking Starts & stops

  1. Any of these danger signs? No danger signs Change
  2. What runs the pump? Grid or a generator Change
  3. Does it start and stop every few seconds? Not sure Change
  4. Does the water level drop while it is pumping? Yes, the level drops Change

What to do now

Installer needed

The pump is drawing the water level down.

  1. Keep it switched off.
  2. Note the level, and how quickly it drops while the pump runs.
  3. The yield of the source and the duty of the pump are reviewed together before it runs again.

Stop or get help when: Do not run it in short bursts to keep the level up, and do not bypass a dry-run protection.

Send with this

  • The level and how fast it drops
  • Nameplate photograph
  • How the pump is installed

Send this check to HOBER

Two photographs help most: one of the whole screen or of the fault as you see it, and one of the pump or controller nameplate. Send them in the message you are already using, or attach them on the Contact page.

If English is difficult, write in your own language and describe what you see in your own words. Photographs help too.

Nothing has been sent to HOBER yet, and no photograph can be uploaded here. If the copy button does nothing in your browser, select the text and copy it by hand.

03 / Before you write to us

Two photographs, and what you already know.

The check records what you answered. Only these two photographs have to come from you; everything else is optional.

  • The whole screen, or the fault as you see it
  • The pump, controller or inverter nameplate
  • What the system runs on — solar panels only, a grid, a generator or a battery — if you know it
  • The water level, if you can see it or already know it

A long description in English is not needed. Write in your own language, and keep the two photographs with it.

Next step

Send the check,
and the two photographs.

The check is carried into the message field when you open the Contact page. Add your own notes, in your own language, and attach the two photographs.
